Interview with Jamie Barratt on BMW M140i Exhaust System

I’ve got an 18 plate BMW M140i, it’s the PPF model, but I’ve had that mapped out it’s at stage 2 just over 400 wheel horsepower, it has got a 4 .5″ decat and now the Enhance Performance cat-back system.

THE EXHAUST SYSTEM HAS TRANSFORMED THE SOUND OF THE CAR

It’s got the non-res exhaust, which isn’t droney in the eco mode, but it’s got the beans when you want it. I got it mapped after maybe about three months. It’s well worth doing, definitely worth buying the system as well.

It’s totally transformed the sound of the car it’s just too quiet from standard, even with just the defat it’s still been a bit too quiet for me, I like them a bit beefy.

THE TIPS ARE SOMETHING ELSE!

The tips are definitely worth paying the extra bit of money for, and with them being ceramic you don’t have to clean them very often. Plus they’re easy to clean when they do need doing.

I’ve not seen too many people with them, or not heard of many people with them at the moment. I know they’re only still entirely new, so I wanted to be one of the first people to get them.

Other manufacturers don’t hand-weld them, they are just machine welded or something like that, and they’re not much to look at.

With the new exhaust, it felt a bit more responsive.

With it being the PPF model it has the different silencer in the middle, I guess that restricts it quite a lot. Now, without having the big back box on it’s just got two nice tubes there.

IT JUST GIVES THAT EXTRA EFFECT TO THE SPEED

I’d never met Adam before. It was just a case of him being very big in the VXR world of modified parts, so he was the most recommenced for the new exhaust system.

After seeing the quality and just how good the fitment is and the price as well, half the cost of your more expensive, big brands, so it was worth getting one.

Now I’m just waiting for Adam to start making up more parts!
